Editorial Policies
The following policies in addition to the those stated earlier shall guide the administration and management of the editorial operations of Journal of Public Administration, Policy and Governance Research (JPAPGR):
Open Access Policy
JPAPGR shall maintain an open access policy where all original papers published online are made freely and openly accessible on-line for academic and professional usage, interest of the scientific community, global increased citation and readership of author’s work.
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
For the purpose of quality assurance and academic integrity, Journal of Public Administration, Policy and Governance Research (JPAPGR) is committed to promoting and maintaining the highest ethical code of conduct and standards for all the parties involved in the process and act of publishing in a peer-reviewed journal: the author, the editor of the journal, the peer reviewer and the publisher. In doing this, JPAPGR is guided by the guidelines defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). JPAPGR has a zero-tolerance for plagiarism. Authors are to ensure that papers submitted are free from plagiarism. Plagiarized papers shall be rejected. Papers submitted for review are first checked for suitability of content to the journal coverage, followed by checking for plagiarism via the Grammarly anti-plagiarism tool. Plagiarized papers are rejected.
Manuscript Review Process
The turnaround period for the review process (which is targeted at ensuring quality publication) is 5-8 weeks. Submitted papers for publication shall be reviewed by competent reviewers to determine their appropriateness, logical consistency and suitability for publication. This process involves assigning an editorial board member and independent reviewer to examine and scrutinize the content of a submitted manuscript. Normally decisions, whether a paper should be accepted, amended or rejected, will be based on editorial informed recommendations. To ensure that manuscripts are evaluated objectively and justly, the author’s name and institutional affiliation is concealed from reviewers during the review process. Thus, the full name including institutional affiliations, email address and ORCiD of all contributors or authors should appear on a separate cover page of the submitted manuscript. Submitted manuscript(s) by any member of the editorial board of JPAPGR shall be subjected to the same review process and procedure. Manuscript with the defamatory language shall be rejected. The Editorial Board of JPAPGR reserves the right to reject any manuscript deemed not suitable for publication in this journal.
Withdrawal, Retraction, Correction
Withdrawal Policy
Manuscripts may be withdrawn by submitting a letter electronically to the editorial office of JPAPGR stating the reasons for manuscript withdrawal. If an author(s) requests a withdrawal within 12 days of submission, the author is allowed to withdraw the manuscript without paying any withdrawal fee (5 USD) or 2000 Naira (within Nigeria). However, if an author(s) withdraw manuscript(s) any time after review and acceptance, a withdrawal fee (5 USD) or 2000 Naira (within Nigeria) will have to be paid.
Corrections: For the purpose of quality assurance, PDF Galley proofs are sent to the corresponding author for proofreading and corrections are done before publication.
Post Publishing: Corrections are published if the publication information contained in the published paper is seriously affected with regard to accuracy and consistency. Corrections are published in the subsequent issue of the journal under corrections and addendum.
Retractions: Retractions of paper is also done where necessary.
