The effective use of digital tools in teacher supervision and mentorship can significantly enhance the quality of education in public secondary schools. This study investigates the current practices, availability, and utilization of digital tools for supervision and mentorship in public secondary schools in Cross River State, Nigeria. The researchers conducted in-depth interviews with school administrators, teachers, and supervisors to gain insights into the existing processes, perceived benefits, and challenges of incorporating technology. Additionally, on-site observations were carried out to examine the actual implementation and usage of digital tools in these contexts. The findings reveal both promising opportunities and persistent barriers in adopting digital tools for supervision and mentorship. While some schools recognize the potential benefits, such as improved communication, data-driven decision-making and enhanced feedback mechanisms, they also face challenges related to infrastructure, technical support and the development of digital competencies among educators. The study proposes a set of recommendations to address these issues, including providing comprehensive training and professional development, establishing clear policies and guidelines, investing in robust technological infrastructure and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Through implementing these strategies, public secondary schools in Cross River State can leverage digital tools to streamline supervision and mentorship practices, ultimately leading to improved teacher performance and student outcomes.
